Licensed Café

Situated right on The Borough in the heart of Wedmore, relax over a great coffee and fabulous, fresh food – or maybe a glass of wine or Prosecco or choose a local cider or ale.  Whether you’re taking a break from shopping, or a well-earned rest during a long walk or cycle ride, or just out for the day, the Café offers a great all year round menu together with an ever-changing Specials Board.

To start your day our breakfast offering of freshly cooked Pastries; or Hobbs House Toast with locally-made Marmalade or Jam; to a really scrummy Bacon Sandwich – aims to set you up well for the day.

Or if you don’t fancy breakfast, just come in for a fabulous cup of coffee.  With our beans roasted by Brian Wogan in Bristol, our coffee is rich and wonderful.  We also have a great selection of teas for you to enjoy.  Along with Smoothies and a range of premium soft drinks and juices.

Homemade is our key – supreme sandwiches; fabulous homemade quiches and freshly-made salads and above all …. our cakes.  All from our own kitchen – we pride ourselves on our all our homemade foods.   And when it’s not from our own little kitchen …. we’re happy to tell you …. because we’ve sourced the best and most delicious things from great producers.

A homemade soup is offered daily and is always gluten-free and Vegan.  Just using the best of the locally-sourced produce and always served with fabulous Hobbs House bread.

Our regular menu gives you the best of our deli:  from a great Ploughmans; to an Antipastii Platter; to our Quiche and 3 Homemade Salads; plus lots more.  Our Specials Board extends out using the most amazing things from our deli:  Smoked Salmon; Beetroot Falafel; Baked Goats Cheese; Melted Brie; Pan-roasted Halloumi; our own Pizza; and seasonal offerings;  and so much more.

We have many gluten-free options – both savoury and sweet; as well as dairy-free options and a good range of Vegan options.

Our regular menu continues on throughout the day so giving you the option to enjoy your day and then come in for great food throughout the afternoon.  We also serve Cream Teas as you can’t come to the West Country without having one!

Our Café is a lovely relaxing, informal and snug little place – nestled right in the heart of the deli and shop- and we aim to give you fresh homemade food without any fuss.  Our patio and garden gives you the chance to do some people-watching in a hassle-free environment.  We also love to see dogs in our garden – so do feel free to bring your pooch along.
